Changelog

Product updates,
improvements & fixes

A compact record of what changed in AnuCal. Larger updates include longer notes when there is more context to share.

Invite viewers on every plan

Share a calendar privately with as many viewers as you like, including on the Free plan. Open Members from the calendar menu and invite people by email. Viewers see the calendar inside AnuCal but cannot change it. Adding an editor still needs Premium.

Improvements
  • Adding or deleting an event or category responds faster, and so do undoing a delete and changing a calendar's settings.

Keep plans in their month until you pick a day

Plans with a month but no day yet go in a Sometime strip under that month. Add one from the lightbulb by the month name, or switch an event to Sometime in its panel. When the day is decided, drag the item onto it. Works in both layouts and on every plan.

Improvements
  • The month you are in now stands apart from busier months around it. In the horizontal layout it gets extra space after the dates and under its events. In the vertical layout (Premium) its column is wider, so event titles stay readable and up to three events show per day before the +N.
  • The year dropdown now ends with a Year Range entry that shows the mode you are on — Calendar, Rolling, or Fiscal. Change how the 12 months are framed from the control you were already using, instead of looking for it in the calendar menu.
  • Nudge the 12 months on screen forward or back without changing your Year Range. Hover the month labels for the arrows, or press Cmd/Ctrl with an arrow key — add Shift to move a whole year. Today, Reset, or Esc brings the saved view back.

Embed your public calendar

Add a public calendar to a website builder, Notion, or another site with a ready-to-copy iframe. The embedded view removes app navigation, keeps a subtle AnuCal footer, and includes guidance for a full-year height.

Fixes
  • Imported Google Calendar events now carry over the colors set in Google Calendar, including calendar colors and individual event colors, so your year view stays recognizable at a glance.
Improvements
  • Fixed Week weekday headers now stay visible while you scroll through the year, including across the full horizontal grid on narrow screens.

Events can repeat

Open any event you can edit and set it to repeat: weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, quarterly, or every N days. Say how many times, and every repeat that falls in the year you are viewing appears at once. Series show on shared and published calendars, and export to CSV as one row per repeat.

Timed Google events now show on your year

Google Calendar events with a start time are no longer skipped. Show them as a per-day count or as chips on the day, mark the ones that clash, and click a date to read the whole day in time order. All-day sync is unchanged; the timed part is available on Premium.

See another calendar behind this one

Show another calendar's events behind your own. They keep their own colours, stay read-only, and fade back so your plans stay in front. Pick the calendars from the calendar menu, and switch the layer off from the legend.

Improvements
  • Move to calendar is now in the row menu in Category Settings, alongside Archive and Delete — no need to open the category first.

Archive categories you're done with

Put a finished category out of sight without losing anything. Its events and stamps stay where they are — hidden from the calendar, the category picker, and published pages — and restoring brings them all back. Manage it from Category Settings.

Fixes
  • Fixed a category moved to another calendar sometimes arriving hidden there, so its events only appeared after you turned the category back on.
Improvements
  • After moving a category to another calendar, the confirmation now names the destination and links straight to it.

See all twelve months side by side

A new Vertical layout turns months into columns and lets days flow downward. Each day gets its own line, multi-day plans become a rail you can follow across months, and long event names have room to read. Available on Premium, in Beta.

Fixes
  • Fixed categories from the previous calendar briefly appearing while another calendar was loading.
Improvements
  • The yearly calendar now uses available space more effectively, with a compact footer that stays accessible and avoids overlapping panels on smaller screens.
  • Category actions now live in a dedicated settings screen, and you can create a new category while editing an event or stamp without losing your draft.

Adjust Color Tone intensity for light and dark mode

Choose how months are accented, then dial in the strength separately for light and dark mode — new Tone Intensity sliders in the footer.

Fixes
  • Fixed the year calendar briefly flickering or re-rendering when you switched back to AnuCal from another browser tab.
  • Fixed What's New announcements reappearing when you switched to a shared or read-only calendar.

Choose how your year reads

Group a busy year two ways: Compact packs events tightly, while By category gives each category its own band. A per-calendar setting at the right of the category bar.

Fixes
  • Fixed glitches when moving events — a doubled outline while dragging, the cursor switching to the wrong shape mid-drag, and a brief snap back to the original position when you dropped.
Improvements
  • Rolling can start from this month or up to three months back, so the next 12 months stay anchored where you need them.
  • Calendar Settings is now on a gear icon in the calendar switcher, on the row you are viewing.
  • Duplicate actions for events, stamps, and calendars now use a plus icon, while copy-to-clipboard actions keep the standard copy icon.
  • The calendar switcher menu now opens with a lighter, more natural feel.

View the year as rolling 12 months

Keep the year view moving with the current month or a recent previous month at the top, so planning stays anchored to the present.

Improvements
  • Category rows in event and stamp editors now use a clearer category marker instead of a tag-like icon, making the field easier to read at a glance.
  • Month grids now mark non-existent days with a subtle hatch, making them easier to distinguish from real dates.
  • Stamp records can now be exported as a CSV file, making it easier to back up or review them outside AnuCal.
  • Settings modals, footers, and delete confirmations now share a consistent layout and styling. Category and calendar cleanup flows use in-app confirmation dialogs instead of the browser's native prompts.

Set your own days off

Not everyone has Saturday and Sunday off. Highlight the weekdays that count as days off for you, in any combination.

Duplicate calendars in one tap

Duplicate owned calendars from Calendar Settings > Calendar actions. The copy includes events, categories, stamps, settings, palettes, and images; Premium now supports up to 5 owned calendars for drafts, backups, and shared versions.

Improvements
  • Calendar owners can now choose which owned calendar is primary directly from Calendar Settings.

Share calendars with invited members

Premium calendar owners can invite unlimited viewer members and 1 editor per calendar with full content edit access, while public links remain read-only.

Fixes
  • Google Calendar all-day events that span year boundaries now stay visible in every overlapping year view.

Show ISO week numbers

If you think in "which week of the year is this?", turn on ISO week numbers. Useful for project planning, release schedules, operations, and any workflow organized by week.

Improvements
  • Fixed Week layouts can start on Monday, so weekday-aligned planning fits more calendar habits.

Mark days with emoji stamps

A small mark for each day, in just one tap. Stamps help you gently capture your year across work, life, self-management, and mood.

Duplicate events in one tap

Duplicate an event from the details screen with one tap or use Cmd/Ctrl + D. Delete shortcuts are supported too for faster editing.

Improvements
  • Press Esc to close the event details pane without reaching for the mouse.

Publish read-only calendar pages

Publish a read-only calendar page with its own URL for teammates, classmates, or your audience. You can turn it on, off, and regenerate the link anytime.

Create multiple calendars

Create and manage multiple calendars within AnuCal. This forms the foundation for sharing and collaboration features.

Improvements
  • Remembers your last used category for new events, lets you move events when deleting a category, and recovers corrupted category visibility settings automatically.

Use dark mode with accessible category colors

Introduced Dark Mode and improved category color accessibility.

Print yearly views for sharing and export

Added print-friendly layouts for sharing and exporting yearly views.

Export events as CSV

Added CSV export, enabling analysis and easy import into Google Calendar—think in AnuCal, act in your daily tools.

Fixes
  • Fixed large Google Calendar sync failures, timezone-related date rendering, and calendar selection not sticking reliably.
